Crafts & Cocktails: Fabricate a Personal Narrative

Crafts & Cocktails: Fabricate a Personal Narrative

Wednesday, June 14, 2017 | $5*

Doors Open 6:00 p.m. | Event 6:30 p.m.

World Chess Hall of Fame, 3rd floor

Join multimedia artist Eugenia Alexander for an evening of textiles and tales, inspired by her recent work, out of time, out of mind, in The Imagery of Chess: Saint Louis Artists exhibition. Alexander combines traditional African symbolism and textile design as well as Afrofuturism, a genre that features futuristic or science fiction themes incorporating black history and culture. Create a personal narrative, actual or fabricated, and craft a work of art on canvas using textiles and paint, as you enjoy a signature cocktail.

*Free Admission for World Chess Hall of Fame members. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments are provided.

For more information or to reserve a spot please email: events@worldchesshof.org.

Metered on-street parking is available, as well as paid lots adjacent to Kingside Diner and at the Schlafly Branch of the St. Louis Public Library.
